How
eSylvan
has
helped
Robert
Zappia,
a
student
from
Florida
Robert
Zappia
is
an
eighth
grade
student
whose
mother
enrolled
him
in
eSylvan
because
his
math
skills
were
lagging
behind
the
other
students.
His
mother
hoped
eSylvan's
online
tutoring
service
would
help
Robert
improve
his
grades
-
and
catch
up
with
his
classmates.
Barbara
Zappia,
Robert's
mother,
in
her
own
words
Toward
the
end
of
the
seventh
grade,
Robert's
grade
in
math
began
to
slip.
He
had
received
several
low
scores
on
tests
and
a
D
on
his
latest
report
card.
He
was
having
difficulty
mastering
the
basics,
and
without
them
he
was
not
able
to
keep
up
with
the
rest
of
his
class.
Robert
wanted
to
do
better
in
math,
and
was
unhappy
with
his
performance,
but
realized
he
could
not
do
it
by
himself.
eSylvan
appealed
to
us
for
several
reasons.
Robert
likes
that
he
can
work
at
his
own
speed
and
ask
questions
at
any
time.
As
a
single
parent
with
a
busy
work
schedule,
I
enjoy
the
convenience
and
flexibility
of
eSylvan.
I
also
like
that
Robert
can
be
tutored
from
our
home
where
he
is
most
comfortable.
Robert
really
likes
the
interaction
that
he
has
with
the
eSylvan
teachers
before
each
lesson
begins.
He
looks
forward
to
working
with
a
variety
of
instructors
because
of
their
different
teaching
styles
and
enjoys
talking
and
sharing
stories
with
them.
When
I
get
home
in
the
evening
he
is
already
online
and
prepping
himself
for
his
lesson.
Robert's
grade
in
math
improved
considerably
on
his
last
report
card.
He
brought
his
D
up
to
a
high
C
and
is
continuing
to
develop
his
skills.
On
his
last
day
of
seventh
grade,
Robert's
teacher
recognized
him
in
front
of
his
entire
class
for
his
improvement
that
quarter.
Robert
and
I
are
very
pleased
with
eSylvan.
The
teachers
are
relaxed
and
easy
to
work
with
and
tech
support
is
helpful.
Robert
comes
out
of
his
lessons
each
week
feeling
positive
about
his
improvements
and
more
self-confident.
He
also
enjoys
receiving
the
tokens
for
his
hard
work.
Overall,
I
am
tremendously
impressed
with
eSylvan.
