How
eSylvan
has
helped
Thomas
Henson,
a
student
from
Georgia
Thomas
Henson
is
an
eighth
grade
student
whose
mother
enrolled
him
in
eSylvan
because
he
was
having
trouble
with
his
reading
and
reading
comprehension
skills.
His
mother
hoped
that
eSylvan
would
help
him
catch
up
with
his
classmates.
Marion
Brooks,
Thomas's
mother,
in
her
own
words
Thomas
was
not
a
good
reader
in
the
seventh
grade.
His
spelling
and
pronunciation
were
poor
and
he
struggled
with
his
reading
comprehension.
His
grades
were
barely
high
enough
to
pass
his
classes
and
his
self-confidence
was
suffering.
I
heard
about
eSylvan
from
a
family
member
who
was
also
looking
for
a
tutoring
service
for
her
son.
I
was
impressed
by
eSylvan's
reputation
and
their
quality
of
service.
I
also
liked
that
eSylvan
was
online
since
there
aren't
any
tutoring
centers
close
to
our
house.
Thomas
likes
eSylvan
because
he
enjoys
being
on
the
computer
and
using
the
Internet.
He
also
enjoys
the
personalized
instruction
he
receives
from
his
teachers
and
likes
that
he
isn't
singled
out
when
he
asks
a
question,
as
he
is
in
the
classroom.
I've
seen
a
great
deal
of
improvement
in
Thomas
since
he
started
eSylvan.
He
seems
to
understand
more
of
what
he
is
reading
and
he
can
pick
out
the
main
idea
and
other
important
information
in
a
passage
quickly.
His
spelling
and
pronunciation
have
greatly
improved
as
well.
Thomas
has
also
regained
his
confidence.
He
used
to
get
very
nervous
and
stumble
over
words
when
he
read
aloud,
so
he
refused
to
read.
Now
he
is
happy
to
read
out
loud
in
class.
I've
always
enjoyed
reading
and
I
am
happy
that
Thomas
is
able
to
enjoy
it
as
well.
Thomas
is
doing
really
well
this
school
year
and
I
expect
that
his
grades
will
improve
on
his
next
report
card.
While
he
used
to
put
off
his
homework
for
as
long
as
he
could,
he
now
does
it
as
soon
as
he
gets
home
from
school.
I
feel
really
good
about
eSylvan.
The
teachers
are
wonderful;
they
inspire
Thomas
to
learn
more
and
try
harder.
The
thing
that
I
like
most
is
that
Thomas
enjoys
eSylvan.
He's
learning
and
having
fun
at
the
same
time.
